Attention all softball fans! Due to the weather forecast, we've shifted gears and are now excited to celebrate Elmwood Park Softball Opening Day on Sunday, April 14th at Elmwood Park High School!
Get ready for a fantastic day filled with softball action, delicious food, and community spirit.
Here's the updated schedule:
- 11:30 AM: Teams arrive in full uniform and get ready for the day!
- 12:00 PM: Let's kick things off with the official Opening Day Ceremony. We'll have special guests including the Mayor, Police Department, and Fire Department to officially welcome the season.
- 12:30 PM - 1:50 PM: Prepare to be amazed by our thrilling skills competitions! There will be awards for each level (K-2 all the way up to 7-9th):
- Furthest Hit Contest (12:30-12:50 PM): Who can smash the softball the farthest?
- Longest Throw Contest (1:00-1:20 PM): Time to unleash your inner pitcher! See who can throw the softball the furthest!
- Accurate Throw Contest (1:30-1:50 PM): Can you hit the target with pinpoint accuracy? Let's find out!
- 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Don't miss the epic showdown! Witness our Senior Girls battle it out against the Elmwood Park Police Department in an exhibition game. Get ready for some fierce competition and incredible plays!
- 3:15 PM - 4:45 PM: Calling all future stars! The Junior League takes the field for exciting round-robin games to showcase their teamwork and talent!
The official Opening Day festivities wrap up at 5:00 PM.
This is a FREE event, open to the public! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and enthusiasm for a day celebrating softball and community spirit.
