Calling all softball fans, families, and community members! Gear up for a day of fun, competition, and celebrating the start of the softball season at the Elmwood Park Softball Opening Day Ceremony!
Join us on Saturday, April 13th at Elmwood Park High School for a jam-packed day filled with activities for everyone.
Here's what you can expect:
- 10:00 AM: Arrive and get settled in! Grab some delicious food and mingle with fellow softball enthusiasts.
- 10:30 AM: The official Opening Day Ceremony kicks off! We'll have special guests including the Mayor, Police Department, and Fire Department to officially welcome the season.
Buckle up for some exciting skills competitions! (Awards for every level K-2 all the way up to 7-9)
- Furthest Hit Contest (11:00-11:20 AM): Who can launch the softball the farthest?
- Longest Throw Contest (11:30-11:50 AM): Test your arm strength and see who can throw the softball the furthest!
- Accurate Throw Contest (12:00-12:20 PM): Precision is key! Can you hit the target consistently?
- 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Epic Showdown! Watch our Senior Girls take on the Elmwood Park Police Department in an exhibition game. Get ready for some friendly competition and amazing plays!
- 1:45 PM - 3:00 PM: Don't miss the Junior League taking center stage with their scrimmage games! These future softball stars will showcase their skills and team spirit.
This is a FREE event, open to the public! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and enthusiasm for a day of celebrating softball and community spirit.
